Vampire History of New York City _______________ _______

1468 – Mani and Saran arrive in what is now known as New York City. They settle in

mid Manhattan, slaughtering the native populace.

1492 – Christopher Columbus lands at San Salvadore.

1524 – Three of Giovanni da Verranzzano’s crew are slaughtered by Mani after they

destroy Saran’s sacred gardens.

1609 – Henry Hudson lands on Manhattan (The Island of Hills).

1624 – Casius, Nosferatu (Crone) arrives in Manhattan with the settlers sent to Manhattan

1626 – Casius meets Saran and offers friendship in return for letting him stay in their

domain. Saran talks with Mani, who agrees to give the Nosferatu a chance.

1636 – When Brooklyn is settled, Casius moves to Brooklyn.

1637 – Alexandros Braxenal arrives in Manhattan, coming with new settlers from the

Dutch West India Company. Alexandros brings two childer with him, Selene

Hamphton and Troy Molano. All three are Mehket, avoiding a blood hunt.

1638 – Alexandros and Troy are killed by Mani, Selene is spared and forced to leave.

1647 – Peter Minuit becomes governor of Manhattan. Peter Stuyvesant is made Director

General.

1648 – Hadria Valonia, Mehket (Invictus) arrives in Manhattan from South America.

1650 – Vincent Mateus (Lancea) is embraced by Hadria.

1652 – The first of three Naval battles takes place off the coast of New York, fought

between England and the Netherlands.

1654 – Mateo, Daeva (Lancea) arrives with 23 Sephardic Jews from Brazil.

1659 – Alexander Medici, Ventrue arrives in New York City from Florence, Italy

1664 – Mateo and Casius assist the English to seize control of New Amsterdam.

The City is renamed ‘New York.’ Casius becomes first Prince of New York City.

1665 – Casius’ childe, Cora, disappears.

1670 – Selene Hamphton purchases Staten Eyelandt (Staten Island) via her servant and

sets up her domain. She pays tribute to both Casius and Saran in order to be

allowed to live there.

1683 – Mateo’s ghoul, Governor Dongan, divides the province into 10 counties: New

York, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk, Westchester, Dutchess, Oranger, Ulster

and Albany. Casius lays claim to Kings; Selene gets Richmond; Casius gets the

southern part of New York (Manhattan); Alexander receives a portion of

Manhattan; Hadria is given Queens; Mani and Saran get everything else.

1698 – Population of New York: 18,067 (4,937 live on Manhattan, 2,017 in Kings,

3,565 in Queens, 727 in Richmond, 1,063 in Westchester)

1723 – Prince Casius disappears, some assume torpor, others assume he was killed.

1724 – Mateo takes the title of Prince, by using the combined power of allies and

influence over Alexander Medici. This begins the eternal rivalry between the two

Elders.

1756 – The French-Indian War begins between England and France (also called the

Wilderness Campaign).

1774 – Prince Mateo enters torpor, Seneschal Hadria Valonia takes Praxis. Hadria

upgrades from Queens to Lower Manhattan. Queens is given to the Mehket.

1776 – The Battle of Long Island. English forces seize New York.

1777 – Vashai, a Ventrue of the Ordo Dracul, arrives in New York City and quickly earns

the title of Sheriff.

1781 – English occupation of New York ends.

1789 – George Washington is inaugurated as President in NYC.

1790 – A mortal group, known as Cimmerii Immortalis, is made known to the Kindred

populace.

1796 – Albany replaces New York as the State capital.

1811 – Prince Hadria is assumed dead when a fire destroys 100 buildings (Duane and

Chatham Streets) including her known haven.

1819 – The Lupines, having returned en masse, assault the Kindred populace. This

begins what is later called the Purgatory Wars.

1839 – Christof, a Gangrel, arrives from Germany.

1841 – The Lupines begin a counter-offensive, sparking the second Purgatory War.

1848 – Sister Daedbot, Nosferatu/Crone, arrives in New York City from England

1849 – Vashai takes the position of Kogaion among the Ordo Dracul.

1850 – Sister Daedbot becomes Hierophant of the Circle of Crone.

1854 – Edward Callahan and Chu’a Kaga, Mehket/Lancea, arrive in New York City

from Indian.

1857 – Work begins on Central Park.

1860 – Moll (Nosferatu) embraced Gideon Crane.

1864 – During the Draft Riots, several Kindred take advantage of the chaos. Prince

Sorel’s haven is stormed and he is executed. No one takes credit for the deed.

Octavius Adel Salvator (Ventrue) becomes the Prince during a brief political war.

1865 – Rise and Fall runs on Broadway, written by Emmaline Emory.

1866 – A group of Gangrel, lead by Christof, attempt to seize power from Octavius.

Their attempt fails, leaving seven mortals dead, and they flee into the night, never

to be seen from again. It is rumored that Mani was responsible for their destruction.

1867 – A Fantastic Romance runs on Broadway, written by Emmaline Emory.

1869 – The People’s Voice runs off Broadway, written by Emmaline Emory.

1872 – Several gruesome murders occur within the city, and a Coterie is asked to handle

the situation. In the end, a strange beast is found, subdued, and imprisoned.

1874 – Brooklyn Bridge is made public.

1885 – The Statue of Liberty is completed.

1889 – Viktor Khrugen, childe of Matteo, embraces the Carthian Movement.

1893 – Amalia Zorreguieta (Daeva) enters New York City from South America

1900 – Chu’a Kaga enters torpor

1903 – Adrianna dei Tuscano, Daeva/Lancea arrives in New York City from Italy.

1905 – A group of Kindred loyal to Belial’s Brood, lead by a man named Hellespont,

strike the New York City Kindred. This marks the first emergence of the Brood

in NYC.

1909 – Edward Callahan, Bishop of the Lancea Sanctum, disappears. Amalia

Zorreguieta quickly replaces him.

1911 – Selene Hampthon, Seneschal to Prince Octavius, disappears

1914 – Taking advantage of the World War, Medici seizes Praxis from fellow broodmate

Octavius Adel Salvator.

1917 – Simon Cassio arrives in New York City from China.

1918 – Matrishka Evengii (Ventrue) arrives, coming from Russia..

1922 – The Kindred become involved in an influence war among New York’s

Underworld. The Italians, and other native groups, are severely crippled by the

incoming Yakuza, Triads, and Columbians. The event is nicknamed ‘the War

of Black and Red.’

1929 – The Stock Market crashes, and the Great Depression begins.

1931 – Father Tobias, a Nosferatu of the Lancea Sanctum, arrives in NYC.

1934 – Fiorello La Guardia becomes Mayor of NYC.

1936 – Riker’s Island Penitentiary opens.

1946 – Vashai enters Torpor.

1948 – The United Nations is formed. Meanwhile, President Truman dedicates New

York International Airport (Idlewood).

1955 – Chu’a Kaga emerges from torpor

1963 – Vaino “the Bull” arrives in New York City.

1965 – Malcolm X assassinated, rumor has it the Invictus puts this hit on him

1967 – Racial violence erupts in Spanish Harlem..

1969 – David Xi’An, a Japanese Ventrue, arrives in New York City.

1973 – 110 story twin towers of the World Trade Center eclipse Empire State Building

as the world’s tallest.

1976 – The Second War of Black and Red erupts among the city’s Underworld. The

Westies (Irish Mobsters) align themselves with the Italians against the Triads,

who in turn wage war against the Yakuza. In the end, all parties involved suffer

tragic losses, and a cease-fire is declared.

1977 – The Carthian Movement, lead by Viktor Khrugen, is destroyed as their major

proponents disappear overnight.

1982 – Regina Yerkao is embraced by Uri Renko (Ventrue) and joins the Ordo Dracul

1984 – Prince Medici disappears. It is believed that his Sheriff and Childe, Arkady

Renko, was responsible. Seneschal Amalia Zorreguieta assumes Praxis

1993 – Bomb explodes below World Trade Center; 6 die, over 1,000 injured.

1999 – Cronan “The Fox” emerges from torpor.

2001 – Terrorists hijack two airplanes and fly them into the Twin Towers. Towers

collapse from heat; five other buildings in the World Trade Center Complex

also collapse.

2003 – Massive explosion at Exxon Mobil oil plant in Staten Island. Later that year, the

Cimmerii Immortalis inflict massage damage on the Lancea Sanctum. Ultimately

they are defeated, but the cost is high for the Covenant.

2004 – The City undergoes a massive Influence war from an unknown assailant. Prince

Zorreguieta conducts an intensive counter-offensive in an attempt to deal with the

issue at hand.

2005 – Prince Amalia vanishes after being hunted by the Inquisition. Gavan

Feathersong, a Mekhet Crone, takes Praxis.
